A Gift From Leandro Demingos to Container House Architecture

Hi everybody ?

We continue to discover for you. Our container house on today’s tour is from  Bagé, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

Container house created by Leandro Demingos, in the city of Bagé-RS.

The city of Bagé since the end of last year has had something new in the real estate sector of the container house. Who innovated was the couple Silvana Osband and Leandro Demingos, who after a trip to Chile were enchanted by the housing possibilities they saw in this country. In total there are 450 meters of construction with an economy of 30 to 40% of the masonry.

Silvana says that her husband has always admired this modality, as he does not like the movement of works and the time they take to be completed.

On this trip, the couple can really see that this desire was feasible and could also be realized here in Bagé. Demingos works in the field of welding, mechanics and leasing of large machines. For him it was not a new thing to work in this manufacture.

Despite the fact that the containers arrived in February last year, it was only in August that the house started to be assembled, being completed in December, when the couple finally started to live in the residence.

The incredible project that Demingos developed, has six containers that have become panels, floors, stairs and walls. The walls were covered with thermal blankets to prevent excess heat and cold, as well as acoustic protection to prevent leakage of sounds.

The kitchen has a movable wall, the barbecue is attached to it, which can be used inside the house or on the street, with a simple opening of the back wall as if it were a door.

Sil jokes that her husband created an ark. “We built it without generating waste, because it is 100% reusable. The tiles are made with recyclable material, in addition to being thermal.

Some finishes are still missing ”, reports the owner.
